Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including children, while providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage behavior effectively while ensuring a positive experience for all riders.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a mini bus or paratransit vehicle according to established routes and schedules. Ensure the safety of all passengers, including children, during transport. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain a clean and organised bus interior. Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school officials regarding schedules and any changes. Manage passenger behavior to ensure a safe and respectful environment on the bus. Provide assistance to passengers as needed, including those with disabilities or special needs. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Hours of work would be 2.30 - 4.30 daily Monday to Friday throughout school term time.

Qualifications

Valid commercial drivers licence or at a minimum D1 licence with appropriate endorsements for mini bus driving. Experience in school bus driving or paratransit preferred but not required. Strong communication skills in English; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus. Previous experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable. Customer service experience is essential, with an emphasis on patience and understanding. Mechanical knowledge of vehicles is beneficial for performing basic inspections and troubleshooting. Ability to manage behavior effectively in a group setting, ensuring safety and compliance with rules. Teaching or mentoring experience is an advantage, particularly in educational environments.
