Job Summary
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Childcare Provider to join our After School Club team. The role involves supporting children aged 4-11 after their school day, helping them learn, play, and grow in a safe and engaging environment.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children, communicate well with both children and adults, and feel confident leading group activities. You'll help ensure that every child feels happy, safe, and supported -- while following the club's safeguarding and behaviour policies.
Responsibilities
Supervise and care for children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Create and lead fun, engaging activities (e.g. arts & crafts, sports, cooking, games) that support creativity, teamwork, and confidence.
Promote positive behaviour and act as a role model for kindness, respect, and good manners.
Support children with routines such as snacks, transitions, and home time.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, children, and parents when needed.
Follow all Safeguarding, Health & Safety, and Behaviour policies.
Assist with setting up and tidying away equipment and materials.
Requirements
Previous experience working with children (in a school, club, camp, or childcare setting).
A current Enhanced DBS check (required) -- or willingness to obtain one before starting.
A caring, positive attitude and a genuine passion for helping children thrive.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable and punctual -- able to work during term-time, typically 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training provided).
Desirable (Nor Required)
Childcare or Playwork qualifications (Level 2 or above).
Certificates in Paediatric First Aid or Safeguarding Training.
Experience planning or leading group activities.
Pay: 12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 - 6 per week
