Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Residential Support Workers to join our team, working with a client based in Bridgend. In this role, you will provide essential support to Young People, helping them achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life. There are block booked shifts available for the right candidates. Female only Support Workers are required here due to the YP's requirements and needs.

Our Clients Directors have all worked with Children in Care, and based on their experiences are committed to providing the best possible service to everyone they meet. Qualified and experienced staff, supported by a well-established management team, provide care and support to service users at this property, and others in the area that need temporary staff cover. Shifts are 12 hours, 7am - 7pm for days, then 7pm - 7am for nights.

You will work closely with families and other professionals to implement care plans tailored to each service users needs. Your ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate empathy will be crucial in fostering a supportive environment.

Responsibilities



Assist Young People with daily activities in a residential setting, always ensuring their safety and well-being. Implement individual care plans in collaboration with families and other healthcare professionals either on site or Head Office. Provide emotional support and encouragement to service users, helping them build confidence and help their character. Assist children to appointments or activities as required, ensuring timely arrival. Maintain accurate records of progress and any incidents that occur during your shifts. Communicate regularly with families regarding the service users progress and any concerns. Utilize IT systems for record-keeping and reporting purposes. Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in childcare.

Requirements



6 months plus UK care experience. Working with Children & Young People is key for this role, though similar placement backgrounds will be looked at. Valid DBS on update service (Children & Adult), though we can provide this independently at cost to candidate. Right to Work in UK in place, and residing in the South Wales area. Please do not apply if you live overseas. A valid UK Manual Driving License would be beneficial here, but non drivers can be considered providing that you can reach this property and others in the area on time and without issue. Local workers who can use public transport is acceptable. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with young people, families, and colleagues. Familiarity with implementing care plans is advantageous. The understanding and following of care plans at all times is crucial. A genuine passion for supporting children's development and well-being. Ability to work flexibly, adapting to the varying needs of the young person you support.
