Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship - Culham Science Centre Nursery and Pre-School




Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Culham Science Centre Nursery and Pre-School.


At Culham Science Centre Nursery and Pre-School we take babies from 5 weeks up to about 18 months. Each baby has their own key worker who will get to know them well and fit in with their individual routine and personal care needs. We know parents have their own routines at home for their babies so your baby can have sleeps, feeds, cuddles and play time when your baby wants it.


We have 2 lower preschool classrooms and can accommodate 24 children in each room.

We still have our key worker system and settling-in sessions in the lead up to your child moving into their new room so they get a chance to gradually familiarise themselves with the environment and bond with the team in their new room.


Their key worker will again be the person they have the strongest connection with during these settling-in sessions and the key worker will spend a lot of time getting to know your child well and learning about what they enjoy playing with and their personal care needs.


Those who still need a lunchtime nap are able to do so while the other children enjoy quiet play and cultivate a love of books in our cosy corner.


We are regulated by Ofsted and as such follow the National Curriculum for under 5's, known as the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which is designed to ensure all children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe during these vital early years which have been shown to have a major impact on their future life chances. All our children are enabled to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good progress through school and life.


Your duties and responsibilities will include;




General day to day care of the children Taking direction and assisting with the daily activities Understanding the curriculum Create opportunities for children to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves. Encourage the children to be active and interactive Observing the children at play and considering their individual needs and stage of development. Assist will planning enjoyable activities and ensure they are always moving forwards in their learning and meeting the targets set by the EYFS curriculum. Undertaking all aspects of personal care Assisting at mealtimes Liaising with parents and updating the children's learning journals

Requirements;




Preferably have GCSE grades A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them
Passion for wanting a role in childcare and working with babies and small children

Hours;




The setting is open from 7:30am - 6:00pm Monday to Friday The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week
