Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, punctual and hardworking individual with a passion for working in childcare, to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Acorns, Henbury Hill
Acorns Henbury Hill House sits majestically off College Park Drive on the top of Henbury Hill. History begins at home and this listed building has a rich long heritage.
With views that stretch for miles across the Bristol Channel, our children have plenty of open space, with an exceptional forest school site too, our gardens are safe and secure for children to thrive with rich learning opportunities.
William our Gardener spends lots of time teaching the children to sow seeds, grow vegetables and discover all about nature. His mini beast mansions provide 5 star accommodation for the insects and the children love to learn about our natural habitat with William come rain or shine!
Our play rooms are designed to provide the finest care in a unique, homely environment.
Your roles and responsibilities will include;
Acting as a Key Carer for a group of children providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care, implementing daily routines and liaising with parents and carers on a regular basis.
Ensure the nursery provides a high quality, safe and stimulating early years environment in which children are able to explore, play and learn through both planned activities and those of their own choosing.
To meet the care and learning needs of individual children.
Plan, prepare and implement age/stage appropriate activities which meet children's individual developmental needs in line with the Early Years at Acorns and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), including evaluation, assessment and identification of next steps for learning in conjunction with other staff.
Liaise with, provide support and maintain a professional relationship with parents, carers and any other family members at all times.
Work in partnership with parents ensuring that they are kept fully involved and informed about their child's activities, achievements and progress, and encourage parental involvement.
Work with parents/carers of children with additional learning needs to ensure inclusivity by implementing our procedures.
Requirements;
A Level 2 childcare qualification is essential
You must be able to gain a clear DBS
GCSE grades A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent are required
Hours;
Acorns Henbury Hill are open from 07.30-18:00 Monday to Friday, all year round
The successful candidate will be required to work between 30-40 hours per week, with shift patterns to be discussed
