Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship - Little Explorers Day Nursery and Preschool




Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Little Explorers Day Nursery and Preschool, Taunton.


Providing care from 6 months - 5 years, learning opportunities for every child. Little Explorers is a highly motivated, experienced, and qualified team all within a fun and friendly family run setting in Taunton, Somerset.


Beautiful Garden space. Arts and Crafts. Cooking. Yoga. Sing and sign. A wide range of resources and activities daily. Wake and shake. Mindfulness sessions


We offer a wide range of learning opportunities for every child including daily activities such as; baby yoga, Spanish lessons, Little Explorers investigation station, painting, music, dancing, sand and water play, cultural learning, story time, cooking lessons in our dedicated cooking classroom, outdoor play and games, sensory play including access to our fully equipped sensory room, school readiness sessions, sign and sign, construction activities, wake and shake, small world, role play and much more!

What is the Little Explorers Standard?




All staff at Little Explorers regardless of their role are Paediatric First Aid Trained.


We have an onsite defibrillator to ensure the utmost safety of children in our care.


We use a hospital grade fogging machine to maintain the cleanliness of the environment.


Staff must complete a comprehensive 12-week induction training programme alongside continual support from management and professional development opportunities throughout their employment, ensuring all staff deliver the highest quality of care and continue to meet the Little Explorers Standard.


Staff are trained to support children and families through difficulties, valuing children's feelings with respect, empathy and care. We recognise that it's not just the support you receive at nursery that counts but also the extended support outside of nursery life. We will always put families in touch with the right support at the right time to meet the whole families needs.


Our focus is on staff developing secure, positive relationships with each child, following their interests, playing, having fun, laughing, learning, developing and growing together.

We know how important the Early Years is in educating and influencing Children and therefore use this opportunity to develop Children's awareness in looking after our planet and doing their bit for the environment.


Your duties and responsibilities will include;




Providing high quality care and support to our children from 6 months - 4 years of age. To ensure all children are supported, valued and working within a fun, enjoyable and caring environment. We have developed our 'Little Explorer Standard' which aims to provide all employees and children with the ability to reach their very best potential during their time at Little Explorers. Undertaking all aspects of personal care, assisting at mealtimes. Setting out the day's activities. Liaising with parents and keeping them updated on their child's progress

Requirements;




A Level 2 Childcare qualification is essential GCSE grades A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent


Hours;




Little Explorers Day Nursery and Preschool is open from 7:45am - 6:00pm Monday to Friday The successful candidate will be required to work 38 - 47.5 hours per week
