Based in Caerwys Clwb Bwthyn Bach Wrap Around Care are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Childcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a background in early childhood education. This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children, ensuring their well-being while fostering their development through play and structured activities.
The hours will be Monday to Thursday from 11.30am until 4.30pm. These hours/days could change in the future depending on demand.
Level 2 Childcare Qualification essential and working towards Level 3 in our employment if desired .
Playwork Qualification desirable.
Driving licence and own transport essential.
Enhanced DBS, First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene Certificates will be required/or arranged on hiring if not already obtained.
Responsibilities
Supervise and engage with children in a childcare setting, ensuring their safety at all times.
Help plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive community.
Assist in the daily routines including playtime and more structured activities to create a fun and caring environment.
Observe children's behaviour and development, providing feedback to parents as necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the childcare area to ensure a hygienic space for children.
To work effectively as a team with the Person in Charge, the Deputy and the Primary schools with which the facility is linked to.
Skills
Confident skills to guide and support children in their learning experiences.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children and parents.
Experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential.
Ability to maintain a calm and positive attitude at all times.
A genuine love for working with children and understanding their needs.
Knowledge of child development principles and practices is advantageous. ALN /Autism experience also desirable.
Our numbers are rising and therefore we are seeking someone to join the team to help in expanding our facility making it an exciting place to be, with a home from home feel. You will be looking after children between 2.5 years upto 11 years. You will be required to help with toilet training and some intimate care. This is small and friendly rural facility run by a small committee of volunteers (charity based) therefore if you would like to be part of a close knit team that can only thrive on working together we would love to hear from you.
