We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the development and well-being of children by providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children of various ages, 18 months to 4 years and After School children aged 3-11 years old. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's growth while working in a collaborative setting focused on childhood development.
Duties
Assist in supervising children during daily activities, playtime, and mealtime to ensure safety and engagement
Support classroom routines such as nappy changing, feeding, nap times, and transitions between activities
Implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and social skills
Maintain a clean and organised environment, including sanitising toys and learning materials
Provide first aid when necessary and follow safety protocols diligently
Experience & Qualifications
Level 3 or above in Childcare
Prior experience working with children in settings such as nursery, preschool, nannying, or classroom environments preferred
Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
Experience with toddler care, infant care, and preschool-aged children is highly desirable
Certification in first aid is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification required if not already held
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and team members
