Childcare Practitioner
Job Description
Join our passionate team at Rainbow Nursery in Totnes, where we care for children aged 3 months to 4 years in a nurturing, play-rich environment. We are looking for a warm, energetic Keyperson to support children's development through playful learning and responsive care.
As part of our committed early years team, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning based on EYFS principles
Observe and track children's development, supporting their next steps
Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families
Confidently co-play and interact with children to support learning and discovery
Take responsibility for a key group of children and a curriculum focus area
Lead activities including sensory play, singing, storytelling, and outdoor exploration
Support daily routines such as mealtimes, nappy changes, and settling to sleep
Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment (indoors and in the garden)
Communicate with parents using WhatsApp, phone, and in-person handovers
Work closely with your team to deliver outstanding care and education
We're looking for someone with:
A Level 3 qualification in Early Years
Experience working with children under 5
A playful, reflective, and caring approach Confidence in supporting children's care, learning, and development A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practiceYou'll also have opportunities to lead group activities, support students or volunteers, and participate in our monthly team meetings and regular training.

Pay: 13.30 per hour
Expected hours: 39.5 per week
