We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated

Child Care Support Worker

to join our Children's Services team. This role provides direct support to children, young people, and their families, helping to deliver care and support plans while working closely with statutory and voluntary partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Support children and young people, including those who are "Looked After" or subject to statutory/court orders. Assist in assessments, care planning, and reviews under guidance of senior practitioners. Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues, providing sensitive support where needed. Record accurate case notes and contribute to statutory proceedings where required. Liaise with external agencies (education, health, police) to coordinate care and services. Transport children to appointments and attend court or multi-agency meetings as needed.

Skills & Experience:

Level 2 Care qualification (or equivalent, CQFW). Experience working with children, young people, and families in complex situations. Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage challenging behaviour and work flexibly in changing environments. Full UK driving licence (Category B) with access to a vehicle.

Desirable:

Knowledge of Looked After Children system, supervision processes, and relevant legislation. Experience with foster carers and statutory agencies. Group work facilitation, report writing, and Welsh language skills.
