Childminding Assistant

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Childcare Assistant to provide exceptional care for children in a safe and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for childcare. This role requires managing daily activities, ensuring the well-being of the children, and fostering their development through play and educational activities.

Your role would be to help care for the children whose ages range from 10 to 24 months, and to offer stimulating play involving an introduction to numbers, letters, colours and shapes, reading stories, helping at mealtimes and taking them out for daily walks. I would also ask you to help with writing diaries and observations.

Having childcare experience and a CRB would be an advantage.

I'm looking for an enthusiastic person to help with the running of my Childminding Setting. I have up to six children per day, aged from 10 months to 2 years old.

The hours are from 8am until 6pm, Monday to Thursday, with coffee breaks and a generous lunchtime break. I offer holiday pay and a workplace pension.

As it is important, (because of the nature of the job), to have a reliable person who can get here for 8am, a local person would be ideal.

My Setting is on the Mortlake/Barnes border and close to Barnes Bridge Station and the 533 bus from Hammersmith.

Duties

Supervise and engage with children in a safe and stimulating environment. Implement planned age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development. Manage daily routines, including some meal preparation. Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the setting.

Experience

Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring the safety of children. Strong leadership skills to guide children through various activities. Proficiency in English for effective communication with both children and parents. Experience working with infants, toddlers, or nursery-aged children is an advantage.
If you are passionate about nurturing young minds and creating a positive environment for children to thrive, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.
