We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team in our friendly home based childminding setting. You will help provide a warm and caring environment for children to grow and reach their potential. Helping them to hit their milestones, while giving them plenty of equal opportunities to learn in a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment. A level 3 Diploma in Childcare is desirable but not essential. We are happy to guide you through the process in obtaining a level 3 Diploma in childcare and all other relevant trainings and qualifications. An (Apprenticeship may be available for candidates that qualify) along with other training that will be discussed during the interview.
Main Duties include:
Meeting children's personal, social, emotional and intellectual needs by providing stimulating and age-appropriate play and learning opportunities in the setting.
Contribute to a high level of care that will enhance the children's general health and well-being and to ensure that all toys and equipment are clean and safe at all times.
To listen to, encourage and support children in their play, learning and development.
To assist and support children with personal care requirements. This may include changing nappies, assisting with toileting needs, changing clothes and shoes and helping children at meal times.
To accompany the children and registered childminder on regular trips, for example to playgroup, schools, clubs or on other planned outings.
To abide by all policies and procedures in place within the setting at all times and be aware of Ofsted requirements.
To assist in providing a variety of outdoor activities to cover all areas of the children's development as well as supervising outdoor play in all weathers.
To build and maintain positive relationships with the children, families who use the service, the registered childminder and other people the service is in regular contact with, for example at playgroups, schools and play centres.
To carry out observations of children and how to discuss the progress of children with the relevant key person and to contribute any ideas to informal and formal planning sessions.
To listen to , follow instructions and communicate well with the registered childminder. Any issues should be raised immediately. Any ideas or suggestions to improve any aspect of the service should be shared with the register childminder.
To assist with preparation of meals and snacks, set up and clear away meal times and supervise the children during meal times.
To attend and contribute to staff meetings
To share child protection concern with setting manager
To ensure adherence to setting's code of practice and confidentiality
To undergo any induction and training procedures as requested by a registered childminder
To refresh and update training as required and take responsibility for own professional development.
