The Role:
Join our friendly team and support children's environmental and equipment needs.
We are looking for a highly motivated Children and Families Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and supportive Children and Families Occupational Therapy Service. Working alongside Grant Officers and Social Workers across the South East of Hampshire you will hold a caseload of children who experience varying degrees of physical disabilities e.g. Cerebral Palsy, Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy, Retts Syndrome, Chromosomal conditions and/or learning disabilities, Autism and ADHD. You will work with them and their family to identify their needs and then meet their needs through minor and major adaptations and equipment provision.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to have regular supervision with an experienced Occupational Therapist Manager, as well as further in house and external training and Continual Professional Development opportunities.
Professionally qualified and registered with HCPC, you will have sound knowledge and experience of working within paediatric and/or adults' social care, community or hospital-based services. You will have the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, being able to communicate effectively with team colleagues, local Borough and District councils and other professionals.
You will carry out Occupational Therapy Assessments recommending appropriate adaptations and then working together with Borough and District Councils to meet the needs of the child. Along with completing risk assessments and moving and handling assessments.
Based in Havant Plaza or Alton office you will have the opportunity to work flexibly from home, you will be provided with a laptop, and you need to be a car driver as you need to travel for this role. The Eastleigh office could be considered as the role will involve travelling across South East of Hampshire County this includes Havant, East Hampshire, Fareham and Gosport .
What you'll do:
As a Children and Families Occupational Therapist you will provide child and family centred assessment and interventions, through the enactment of social care legislation and local government requirements. Using your occupational therapy clinical knowledge, skills and values, you'll be comfortable working as an independent practitioner.
The Children and Families Occupational Therapy Service is a countywide service working closely with the 11 Borough, District and City councils within Hampshire.
