Charlie House supports babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families, across the North-east of Scotland. The goal is simple - to help children to live as full lives as possible and help make precious memories for the whole family at the most difficult of times.

We have an exciting opportunity to be involved at the heart of our organisation and are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Children and Family Activity Co-ordinator, within our Services Team. This post is a key role in supporting the ongoing development of our very special charity. You will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating and delivering activities suitable for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. This will enable us to support the expansion and enhancement of our existing services but also support our long-term goal of providing a specialist support centre in Aberdeen.

Hours



Full-time, 37.5 hours per week - including weekend and evening work

Office based and in the community

Role Purpose



To plan, co-ordinate and deliver activities suitable for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Responsible for identifying and engaging with various service providers in Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray to ensure a varied activity programme. Responsibility for organising, co-ordinating and active participation within our Activity Short Breaks, contacting families, processing applications, booking in and reviewing feedback. Responsible for the development and expansion of activities for the families within Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Orkney and Shetland. To communicate with families on the Family Community Facebook page, update information & events, moderate and monitor posts. To organise activities for parents and carers.

Responsibilities



Deliver inclusive activities across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, and Moray throughout the year, including weekends, evenings, and school holidays. Research, plan, and coordinate suitable activities for supported families. Engage with local service providers to evaluate potential activities and venues. Liaise with the Children and Family Support Manager to identify eligible children and families for activity breaks and other services. Maintain accurate attendance records, service data, and relevant statistics. Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of projects as required. Use Salesforce CRM extensively to manage data, reporting, and service records. Deliver engaging presentations internally and externally, including staff training sessions. Produce clear and accurate reports to support monitoring, evaluation, and decision-making. Attend external and third sector events to promote Charlie House services and build partnerships. Represent Charlie House through public speaking and professional networking opportunities

You will work closely with the Children and Family Support Manager, Fundraising Team and Marketing & Communications Team to deliver targets developed in line with the Strategic Plan.

Financial dimensions



You will be responsible for delivering activities within a budget as set out in the Annual Budget. Produce accurate and timely reports for the Board of Trustees. Ensure the accurate keeping of financial records

Other considerations



Ensure regulatory compliance - with internal policy and procedure alongside external requirements e.g. health and safety, Child Protection and any other additional practices and policies. Ensure that we are compliant with regards to Data Protection. You may be required to travel throughout the North-east although expenses are covered and time off in lieu is given where possible and/or appropriate. Promotion of Charlie House is an integral part of the role, and as such, you may be required to feature in our magazine, articles, website and social media.

Holiday Entitlement



31 days annually plus 4 public holidays pro rata, and an additional day off for your birthday

Essential Experience



At least one years' experience in a similar role. Experience of working with children with complex and multiple needs. Experience of developing and delivering activities Experience of monitoring, reporting against plans and budgets.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent collaborative and team skills Exceptional organisational and planning skills Able to work independently and to deliver on targets Good computer skills knowledge

Desirable skills and abilities



Previous experience using Canva or similar to create social media graphics, presentations, posters and other visual content.

Qualifications



Appropriate childcare qualification Full UK Drivers Licence with access to own vehicle required

Pay: 26,000.00-28,000.00 per year
