The Role
As a
Senior Support Worker
, you will take on a key leadership role within the home -- supporting both the children in our care and the staff team who work alongside you. You will act as a role model for best practice, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing direct care and support to children with learning disabilities and autism
Leading shifts and supporting a small team of support workers
Contributing to the development and implementation of care and behaviour support plans
Supporting the management team with staff supervision, training, and development
Ensuring accurate record keeping and reporting
Promoting independence, safety, and positive outcomes for each child
Upholding and modelling the values of the home at all times
About You
We're looking for a compassionate and confident professional with experience in residential childcare or learning disability support, who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Essential:
Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities and/or autism
Strong leadership and communication skills
Understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted frameworks
Resilience, patience, and a commitment to providing outstanding care
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
Desirable:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - Level 4 preferred for senior roles
Experience leading or mentoring staff in a care setting
Full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential)
