Role Overview
As a Support Worker, your primary responsibility is the well-being and safety of the children. You will act as a positive role model and main point of contact for the children, supporting them to reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting children with their daily well-being, both emotional and physical.
Encouraging and nurturing healthy long-term relationships within a family-style environment.
Providing consistent care to help children develop resilience, self-esteem, and improved general well-being.
Supporting children to achieve individual goals and their full potential.
Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and organisational policies.
Actively participating in professional development to enhance service delivery.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People Workforce (or equivalent)
Experience working with children who have behaviours that challenge or who have experienced trauma
Experience in a residential children's home
Basic knowledge of relevant laws and procedures relating to children and young people
Honest, reliable, empathetic, and able to listen and engage effectively
Required Skills & Experience
Previous experience working with children in a residential EBD setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with children
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
