SO2 - 36,124 to 40,446 for newly qualified social workers with less than 2 years' experience ranging to SO3 - 38,626 to 43,693 for Experienced Social Workers with over 2 years' experience



37 Hours, Full Time



Permanent



Hybrid: Stopford House and homeworking, with expectation of at least 3 days per week office/community based.

Your Role



We are growing our CWD Service and looking for passionate social workers committed to inclusive and strengths-based practice. This is an exciting time to join us in Stockport as we have made significant investment in our CWD service to ensure we deliver the right support at the right time for the growing needs of disabled children in Stockport. We work with the children with the most complex needs in Stockport who are children in need as well as those in need of protection and children in our care. We are ambitious for our children and Preparation for Adulthood is a key priority to ensure children and young people reach their potential. CWD Social workers are vital in driving strong collaborative plans and ensuring that young people are at the centre of decision making.

About You




You will be a passionate social worker, committed to inclusive and strengths-based practice to support children to thrive and reach their potential. You could be an early career social worker who would be supported through the ASYE and SSYE programme, or someone who is more experienced and looking to develop their career further. For the experienced social worker position you would be expected to have at least 2 years of statutory social work experience, including experience of social work with disabled children. You will be relational in your practice and able to build connections with children and young people using a variety of different communication approaches. You will be creative and collaborative in your approach to multi-agency working, ensuring that the child's voice is at the centre of decision making. You will be committed to continuous learning and development, recognising the changing legal, policy and research landscape for disabled children. You will be ambitious for children's future, seeking to empower and equip them to live 'Gloriously Ordinary Lives' as adults.

About Us




This is an exciting time for us in Stockport as we are developing our CWD service to meet the growing needs of disabled children in Stockport. The service now has two teams led by experienced social work Team Leaders with a mix of qualified and alternatively qualified colleagues to ensure that we have seamless transfers between short breaks and social work. We have also invested in a specialist CWD training offer to support communication with disabled including Talking Mats and Makaton. We also offer training on Mental Capacity Act and Continuing Care in addition to our wider Stockport Family Practice Framework training model. We are co-located with our EHCP service, Neurodiversity Team and Inclusion service supporting strong collaborative working.
