You will be part of the VEX team delivering frontline support to children and young people at risk of harm, violence and exploitation in Southwark.
Within this role you will undertake risk and needs assessments, develop support plans, and provide direct interventions, working alongside partner agencies to reduce harm and improve safety, wellbeing and long-term outcomes for young people and their families.
(1) Key Deliverables

Direct Support
Providing holistic, person-centred support to children and young people affected by or at risk of violence and exploitation.
Conducting risk- and strengths-based assessments and agreeing support plans that prioritise safeguarding and harm reduction.
Building positive relationships with young people and families to promote trust and engagement.
Partnership & Collaboration
Working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary partners including Social Care, YOT, Police, Education and Health to coordinate effective interventions.
Advocating for young people's needs and supporting access to appropriate services.
Contributing actively to CHEH meetings and other local multi-agency forums.
Case Management & Compliance
Recording casework activities, action plans, reviews and outcomes accurately and promptly on the electronic case-management system.
Closing cases in line with policy and making appropriate referrals for ongoing support.
Following safeguarding, lone-working, GDPR, diversity & inclusion and other organisational
policies and procedures.
Ensuring all required risk assessments (e.g. LWRAs) are in place and up-to-date.
Learning & Development
Attending mandatory and role-specific training, reflective practice and supervision.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
Experience of providing direct support to children, young people and/or families in challenging circumstances.
Awareness of safeguarding frameworks and ability to work within them under supervision.
Experience of partnership or multi-agency working to support vulnerable young people.
Experience managing a caseload and recording work on an electronic case-management system.
Knowledge of issues such as exploitation, violence, trauma and barriers to engagement.
Understanding of contextual safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.
A relevant qualification in youth work, social work, social sciences or equivalent experience.
Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
Skills & Abilities
Ability to build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with young people and parents/carers, including those who may have had poor experiences with services.
Strong communication skills - verbal, written and digital - including the ability to produce clear records and reports and engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
Ability to prioritise workload, work independently and manage boundaries effectively.
IT-literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and confidence using electronic case-management systems.
Emotional resilience and ability to look after own wellbeing in a demanding frontline role.
