The Role
You will be responsible for finding the right care, education and support for children and young people that are in care or who have special educational needs. We are investing heavily in our children's commissioning function and this new role will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our children and young people get the access to timely and high quality support that meets their individual needs. Reporting to the Senior Children's Brokerage Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
Procuring services that meet the needs of children
Working collaboratively with social workers and EHCP case workers
Negotiating with providers to secure the best possible value and quality of care
Maintaining accurate records and data entry in line with information governance requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Child focused, and passion passion about supporting our children
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge and understanding of either children's social care or special educational needs

You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years' service.
