Salary:
34,778.40 - 35,797.60 (This includes an average of 12 sleep-ins per month).
Hours:
39.2 hours per week.
Rota Pattern:
5-week rolling rota. 2 days on shift and 3 days off pattern.
55 paid per sleep-in carried out.
Annual Leave:
28 days annual leave as standard. This rises by an additional day for every year of service up to 5 years.

Role Description
Young People;
Support the Registered Manager in the provision of an emotionally secure, consistent, warm, supportive and nurturing environment appropriate to the physical, social, cultural and religious needs of young people.
Support the Registered Manager in ensuring that each young person has their needs met through effective assessment and care planning.
Review and monitor care plans ensuring that they are up to date and contribute to review reports as directed. Communicate relevant information to other staff in the home.
Supervise and be involved in young people's social, life-long learning plans and recreational activities in line with care plans.
Assist in the management of behavioural difficulties and young people in vulnerable situations within the policies and procedures set out by Northridge Care Group Ltd.
Act as a Key worker to a young person, taking on responsibility for specified areas of care and support including ensuring all medical needs are met and supporting the young person to advocate for their own needs and wishes.
Ensure that strategies developed in response to challenging behaviours are consistently applied in the home and contribute to their ongoing review and development.
Ensure that you contribute positively to the safeguarding culture at Northridge Care Group Ltd. Safeguard and protect the health and well-being of young people.
Ensure that you work in a way that demonstrates a commitment to the rights of young people with emotional & challenging behaviours and learning difficulties.
Support Registered Managers in reviews of service delivery standards, and in developing best policy and practice that meets young people's needs.
Support and motivate young people to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene.
Work in a way that ensures the home meets Ofsted standards.
Undertake monthly quality audit on specific services.
Work with Registered Managers to liaise with other agencies and professionals.
In line with policies and procedures administer medication and ensure that medical emergencies are dealt with appropriately.
Ensure that young peoples' personal property and clothing is maintained to a high standard and report any requirements to the Registered Manager.
Practice integrity in all dealings with young peoples' personal and financial affairs and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with young people.
Facilitate and support young people in individual and collective decision making. Promote choice and involvement.
Participate in staff and young people's meetings as and when required maintaining records as needed.
Good understanding of and ability to update, to a good standard, all core documents for young people (Care plan, RMP, BSP etc).
Demonstrate initiative when tackling issues in the home or with young people directly.
Staff Support;
Work with less experienced staff offering advice, guidance and support.
Support all staff to work in a way that demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the rights of young people.
Promote good practice in the team in line with all Company policies and procedures.
Provide cover for Registered Managers as necessary by leading the staff team to ensure that young people are cared for, safeguarded and that all necessary tasks within the home are done.
Support the Registered Manager with the induction of new staff and the provision of in-house training.
Promote and actively encourage the professional development of staff.
Complete supervisions for Residential Care workers to a good standard, ensuring the sessions are developmental, reflective, solution focused and professional.
Training and Development;
Maintain your own skills and knowledge undertaking all mandatory and developmental training as required.
Support the senior team leader and registered manager in developing residential care workers
Health and Safety;
Report to the Registered Manager any infectious illness or accident incurred by a young person, colleague, or other person.
Ensure that all Health and Safety, Emergency and Fire policies and procedures are followed. Support Registered Managers in ensuring compliance.
Ensure that equipment is clean and well-maintained report any damage, faults or hazards to the Registered Manager and / or Handyperson.
Promote safe working practice within the Northridge Care Group organisation.
Ensure that the security of your home is maintained at all times.
General;
At all times promote and ensure anti discriminatory practice.
Assist in maintaining financial records in line with Company policies and procedures.
Carry out administrative tasks as and when required.

Person Specification
Experience and Qualifications;
Minimum of 6 - 12 months' experience of working with young people in a residential setting.
Minimum of 1 years' experience of managing staff to deliver high standards of care.
NVQ Level 3/4 Children and Young People (or equivalent / working towards)
GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
Skills & Abilities;
Proven ability to work as part of a team and to use own initiative when necessary.
Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to young people with emotionally challenging behaviours and / or learning difficulties
Demonstrates commitment to working with young people in a respectful way that honours their wishes.
Self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic with ability to motivate others to achieve goals
Good written and verbal communication skills. Able to tailor communication to groups with differing levels of engagement and understanding (young people, families, etc)
