The Role



As a Children's centre worker within the Family Wellbeing Service, you will work across a variety of settings including family hubs, and outreach locations. You will collaborate with Family Wellbeing colleagues and partner organisations to deliver high-quality care and early education for children aged 0-5 years.

Your role will involve supporting children's developmental needs through engaging, inclusive, and nurturing practices. You will build positive relationships with parents and carers, working in partnership to create a safe and supportive environment that promotes each child's wellbeing and learning



In this role, you will actively contribute and support high quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years attending the Children's Centre, ensuring developmental needs are met. Working positively in partnership with parents/carers whilst creating a safe and nurturing environment as part of the Children's Centre team.


Key Responsibilities:


To assist with the planning of the curriculum and delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage; providing safe, creative and inclusive opportunities for children to learn and progress; organising equipment, setting up and facilitating activities. To be responsible for making observations of children's learning and development and determining the most appropriate next steps (ensuring holistic practice is always considered) To ensure activities are carried out safely and responsibly in accordance with statutory requirements, informing management of concerns. To follow all policies and procedures and to be mindful of risk assessments throughout day-to-day duties. To ensure the Children Centre offers the highest standards of physical, emotional and personal care, health and safety and food hygiene at all times.




This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.



Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.


Work Style

However, please note that during the induction period, it may be necessary to spend more time in the office to support your learning and development. The office remains a shared space with cultural encouragement for clear desk policies.
