Job Overview:



As a Children's Residential Waking Night Worker, you will play a crucial role in the lives of the children and young people in our care overnight. You will provide high-quality care, emotional support, and guidance to help them overcome challenges and develop essential life skills. This role requires a high level of empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in young people's lives.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in the residential home. Create a safe, warm, and nurturing environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of all residents. Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each child's needs and aspirations. Support children and young people in their educational, recreational, and social activities. Foster positive relationships with the children, their families, and other professionals involved in their care. Manage challenging behaviors in a calm and constructive manner, using approved techniques and interventions. Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, health, and safety regulations. Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.

Qualifications and Experience:



Previous experience in a similar role or working with children and young people in a residential setting is highly desirable. A relevant qualification in childcare, social work, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce) is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. High level of emotional intelligence, patience, and resilience. Commitment to continuous professional development and training.
