Job Overview


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Football Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the game and a commitment to educating players in both the technical and tactical aspects of football. This role involves coaching players of varying skill levels, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive sporting environment. For our under 7s team.

We are based in Woodford SK7.



Duties



Develop and implement training sessions that enhance players' skills and understanding of the game. Educate players on strategies, techniques, and rules of football to improve their performance on the pitch. Conduct regular assessments of player progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage development. Foster teamwork and sportsmanship among players, promoting a positive team culture. Organise and lead practice sessions, ensuring all players are engaged and learning effectively. Coordinate with other coaching staff to create cohesive training programmes that align with team goals. Manage game day preparations, including strategy meetings and player line-ups. Maintain open communication with players, parents, and other stakeholders regarding player development and team activities.

Requirements



Proven experience in sports coaching, preferably in football at various levels. Strong educational background in sports science or related fields is advantageous but not essential. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate players and convey strategies. Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes while fostering a love for the sport. Strong organisational skills to manage training schedules, player assessments, and team logistics. A deep understanding of football tactics, techniques, and fitness requirements for optimal performance. First Aid certification is desirable but can be obtained upon hiring. FA Level 1 in Coaching Football / Introduction to coaching Football (minimum) or equivalent coaching qualification. Experience working with children aged 5-8, ideally in a school or club setting. Up-to-date Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Valid First Aid and Safeguarding Children certificates (or willingness to complete training). Strong communication skills and a positive, energetic attitude. Ability to travel between schools (driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable).

Desired



FA Level 2 or UEFA C Licence. Experience delivering PE curriculum-based lessons. Additional coaching qualifications (e.g. multi-sports, SEND-specific training).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to 40.00 per hour
