About Us:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Registered Manager to help lead our
brand new
4 bed EBD Ofsted Regulated Children's Home located in the heart of Luton.
As the Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our home and ensuring the highest standards of care and support for the children in our care.
You will be jointly responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations. You are to lead, motivate and manage staff and home resources to ensure high standards of service are achieved within the home, exceeding regulatory standards. You will also be responsible for managing the budget and ensuring the business remains viable, and to meet and exceed the key performance indicators for people, quality, and performance.
No two days are ever the same, sometimes they may be challenging but they will always be positive and rewarding.
Essential Criteria:
Be suitable to work with children and young people - the role involves working with children and young people and that it involves safeguarding responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or working towards the qualification.
Experience:
At least
two
years supervisor experience within a children's home with a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Child-Centered Approach:
Commitment to providing high-quality care and support to children and young people, with a child-centered approach and a focus on promoting their well-being and development.
Regulatory Compliance:
Sound knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety requirements within a residential childcare setting.
Teamwork:
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to achieve shared goals and objectives.
Flexibility:
The successful candidate would have core hours of 9-5, Monday to Friday but must be willing to be flexible with the requirements of the service.
Resilience:
Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, demonstrating resilience and professionalism at all times.
Desirable Criteria:
Additional Qualifications:
Training or qualifications in areas such as first aid, therapeutic interventions, or mental health support.
IT Skills:
Competency in using IT systems and software for record-keeping, reporting, and communication purposes.
Driving License:
Possession of a valid UK driving license and willingness to drive a company vehicle for business purposes i.e. taking children to school.
