Job Description

This is an opportunity to become part of an extremely Child-Focused Organisation that also provides Adult Provisions for the last 10 years. There is a genuine opportunity to progress to Dual RM and potentially RI as the company grows its portfolio of properties.

We are looking for a Children's Home Manager to work at a new 2bed home in Barnsley S63 area, with planning permission already granted and council support .

We specialise in residential services to Children with Emotional, Behavioural and Social Difficulties and Learning Disabilities. The ideal candidates must have proven relevant experience of at least 2 years in the sector as a Manager or a Deputy Manager looking for their next step.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead and manage a team of dedicated staff to provide a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for children. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures to maintain a high standard of care and safeguarding for all children. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and development within the team to enhance the quality of care provided. Lead a team of staff in the delivery of high-quality care and support to the children and young people living in the residential children's home. Develop and implement care plans and risk assessments, in consultation with the children and young people and other professionals. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the service, ensuring that outcomes for the children and young people are positive. Participate in safer recruitment and selection of staff, ensuring that the right people are employed and that they are trained and supported to deliver high-quality care. Work closely with the Directors to develop and implement strategies that will enhance the service and ensure that it meets all regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and ensure that all reporting requirements are met. Supervise and manage the daily operations of the children's care facility, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans for each child, focusing on their unique needs and preferences.

Requirements



NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare or willing to work towards it. At least two years' experience managing a children's service as a Deputy Manager or a Registered manager 1 years' experience of supervising and managing staff working in a care role. A "Good" or "Outstanding" rating within your recent Ofsted inspections. A commitment to working in partnership with children, young people, their families and carers. Ability to lead and manage a team of staff. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures. Understanding of the regulatory framework for residential children's homes. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends. Knowledge in building a therapeutic service based on PACE A driving license and access to a vehicle. Enhanced DBS check
