To lead and manage a children's residential home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and outcomes for children and young people. The Manager will ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements, and promote a therapeutic, nurturing, and structured environment in line with the home's Statement of Purpose.
Key Responsibilities Leadership and Management
Provide dynamic, effective leadership to the care team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Ensure the home operates in accordance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards (2015), and Ofsted requirements.
Lead on staff recruitment, supervision, training, and development, ensuring all staff are supported and skilled.
Develop and maintain a safe, caring, and supportive environment that meets the emotional, physical, and social needs of each child.
Safeguarding and Welfare
Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the home.
Ensure all safeguarding concerns are promptly and appropriately reported and recorded.
Promote the rights of children and young people, ensuring their views are heard and acted upon.
Care Planning and Outcomes
Oversee the implementation of care and placement plans, ensuring they are reviewed regularly and tailored to individual needs.
Promote positive outcomes in health, education, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
Foster a trauma-informed approach to behaviour management and emotional support.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Ensure all records, policies, and procedures are accurate, up to date, and in line with regulatory requirements.
Prepare for and lead OFSTED inspections, maintaining or improving the home's inspection outcomes.
Conduct regular internal audits and address any areas for improvement.
Partnership Working
Build and maintain effective working relationships with families, social workers, schools, health professionals, and external agencies.
Represent the home in professional meetings and advocate for the best interests of children in care
Experience:
- At least 3 years working in Children's residential Childcare (Required)
-At least 2 years in a supervisory role/position (Required)
- Have a minimum of a years experience on driving licence (Required)
-Level 3 or 4 Children's Residential Childcare qualification (Required)
