The Senior Residential Support Worker plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, child-centred care within our children's home. This role combines frontline care responsibilities with leadership duties to ensure children are safe, supported and progressing across all areas of development. This will include:
Providing high-quality, child-centred care within the children's home, ensuring the safety, emotional wellbeing and development of the children in line with individual care plans and the expectations of Ofsted.
Leading and managing shifts effectively, guiding and supporting Residential Support Workers to deliver consistent, therapeutic and trauma-informed care in line with the home's ethos, policies and procedures.
Supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in promoting placement stability, positive behaviour and progress across key developmental areas including education, emotional health, identity and independence.
Acting as a key advocate for the children, building trusting relationships, contributing to care planning and multi-agency work, and ensuring the voice of the child is heard and acted upon.
Modelling professional standards of care, taking ownership of delegated tasks, and helping to drive continuous improvement in the quality of care and outcomes for children.
Participating in the home's rota, including sleep-in shifts, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. The SRSW is expected to take operational leadership of shifts and provide written reports and handovers as needed.
Essential
2+ years' experience working within a Residential Children's home.
GCSE Grades C and above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
Achieved the Level 3/4 Diploma for Residential Childcare or a qualification that the registered provider considers to be equivalent.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
A full UK driving licence
