The Role


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bank Practitioner to join our team at Hennel Children's Home. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and working alongside an experienced, skilled team of professionals. You will help provide essential support to young people in care with their behaviour management, keep them safe and free from harm, all while creating a positive and nurturing home environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people in our care Promote the delivery of a safe, structured, and nurturing environment and immediately report any unsafe practices, conditions or concerns Assist in the implementation of care and placement plans Contribute to placement planning, participate in reviews and other meetings, write and amend reports Ensure the delivery of all key worker responsibilities Ensure ongoing assessment of our Childrens' individual and collective needs in day-to-day practice and be able to evidence achievements Encourage our children to be actively involved in the environment and day to day activities Relate to and engage our children who display challenging behaviour and use a variety of behaviour management strategies Assist our children to identify unsafe, dangerous, harmful and abusive situations, individuals and groups Provide a caring and supportive environment for our children that respects and affirms their racial, cultural and religious identity and lifestyle Ensure an open culture is created so that children and young people feel that they are listened to Record all information accurately, legibly and ensure it is communicated appropriately Provide an effective handover from your shift to the next shift Deliver effective supervision to members of the team and contribute towards continued professional development in terms of individuals and the team Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team both within the home and with external agencies Support the team, assess and define issues and challenges Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, professionals, children, and families. Work in line with the 'Statement of Purpose' to ensure effective delivery of the policies and procedures of the home and organisation Ensure that all administrative requirements of the home are maintained correctly so that they are compliant with good childcare practices, homes procedures, company policies and children's homes regulations Assist in maintenance of standards of hygiene within the home and undertake housekeeping, food prep and intimate personal care duties as necessary Always promote an anti-discriminatory practice Co-operate with the Company in complying and having sound knowledge of the Health and Safety requirements and Company policies, report any unsafe practices and conditions

Other Requirements:



Shift work on a rota system (including evenings and weekends) Provide cover to other homes within the company when required Maintain your registration with the DBS update service Attend and participate in supervision and staff meetings as required by governing legislations Undertake all relevant training as required by governing regulation, guidance, and the Company

Positive Care Group does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and as such we are unable to support any candidates who do not already have right to work. This is a permanent position, if you have right to work but with an expiry date, we are more than welcome to receive your application but please note you would only be eligible for an interim contract linked to your RTW expiry.*
