Requirements of Nursery Chef
A passion for preparing and cooking healthy food
A commitment to the highest possible standards of safety and safeguarding
MUST have at least 2 years of kitchen experience. Nursery/School/Care home experience is desirable.
MUST have experience cooking for food allergies/preferences/dietary requirements
MUST have Knowledge and experience with
anaphylactic allergies
and other dietary restrictions
MUST be dynamic & truly passionate about cooking

To run a weekly cookery class with each focus child, following most up to date guidelines on healthy eating.
Ideally, you will also have
Experience cooking in a children's day nursery
Online DBS
Up to date Level 2 and/or Level 3 Food Hygiene
Professional catering qualifications
Available immediately for interview
The day-day role of a Nursery Chef:
To ensure that you provide the very highest quality of food & snacks. We serve 3 meals & 2 snacks a day
To ensure that you rigorously follow our menus and recipes
Be prepared to do the washing up!! We have a dishwasher but the children are always eating and so there is a lot of washing up to get through
You are part of a team but you must be happy to work alone
Planning and running of weekly cooking classes
Design and adapt menus that accommodate
severe allergies and dietary needs
, ensuring safe and inclusive mealtimes for everyone.
All candidates would have to complete a self-declaration stating that they posed no threat to children as well as a criminal records check. The safeguarding and welfare of the children is always our foremost priority.
