Job Description

Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust's Children's Occupational Therapy Team provides a range of community-based health services for children in Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin, aged 0 -18.



We are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team for the next year to support a project funded by the Change Programme for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Shropshire Primary school hubs for children with additional needs. There will also be an opportunity to join the other clinical OT teams.

The successful applicant will be part of an enthusiastic and friendly team of children's therapists and assistants. The team is highly supportive with a commitment to improving to quality and productivity and there are ongoing opportunities to contribute to service development.

You will need to have a sound knowledge of assessments and interventions used with children across a range of needs or be able to demonstrate that you have transferable skills from working with adults .



You will need to be familiar with report writing and be able to evidence that you have used goal setting and outcome measures within your practice.



You should be able to evidence that you have the developed skills that may be required to liaise with multidisciplinary teams of health, education, and social care professionals.



Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust provides community-based health services for adults and children in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and some services in surrounding areas too.
