Summary
I am looking for a confident and reliable individual to provide support for my son.
About the role
My son is 14 years old and he is a very happy and generally chilled out young man.
He has complex needs and uses a wheelchair. Although he is non-verbal, he expresses himself with facial expressions and noises. He is sociable and enjoys the company of people - he loves meeting new people and being talked to.
He enjoys having stories read to him - he enjoys using his Toniebox especially for Disney stories!
He likes going for walks, going to the zoo, watching / listening to musicals, and like any teenager he loves to sleep. He loves being at home and spending time with his mum, dad, brother and sister. We also have a dog so the ideal person needs to be an animal lover.
I am looking for someone to support my son for initially two days a week for when he comes home from school.
The role will involve meeting my son at our house ready for when he is dropped off after school, helping him to change into his comfies and supporting him until we are home. There will be some personal care required including supporting my son with dressing and changing his pads. He also uses a hoist for transfers.
