We are seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated individuals to join our team as Children's Residential Care Workers. You will play a vital role in supporting children and young people in residential care, helping them feel safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and emotional support for children and young people in the home.
Create a nurturing, safe, and structured environment that promotes positive routines and wellbeing.
Support young people in developing life skills, independence, and confidence.
Assist with education, leisure, and recreational activities, encouraging engagement and participation.
Build positive, trusting relationships with children, acting as a role model and advocate.
Manage challenging behaviour calmly and appropriately, using de-escalation techniques where necessary.
Ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed to protect the welfare of children.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, healthcare professionals, and families to provide consistent support.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
Participate in training, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people (residential care experience desirable but not essential).
Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed care.
Strong communication, resilience, and teamwork skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care (desirable, or willingness to work towards).
