As a
Residential Support Worker
, you will play a vital role in

Key Responsibilities
Direct Care:
Provide consistent, high-quality support, including personal care, education, emotional support, and leisure activities.
Safeguarding:
Identify, respond to, and report safeguarding concerns in line with Prosperity Care Group's policies and the
Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
.
Relationship Building:
Establish and maintain positive, trusting, and professional relationships with children and young people.
Care Planning:
Contribute to the creation, delivery, and review of individual care plans and risk assessments.
Behaviour Support:
Manage challenging behaviour using
trauma-informed, child-centred, and non-punitive approaches
.
Collaboration:
Work effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and timely records to meet safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
Home Environment:
Support the maintenance of a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment, including domestic duties and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Shift Work:
Work on a rolling rota, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and up to
2-3 sleep-in shifts per week
.
Training & Development:
Fully engage with mandatory and ongoing professional training opportunities.
Person SpecificationEssential
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England)
or willingness to achieve this within
2 years of appointment
.
Minimum of
12 months' experience
supporting children or young people with
complex needs
, including EBD, trauma, or mental health challenges.
Strong knowledge of
safeguarding and child protection legislation
.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable
Previous experience within a
registered children's home
