Support Worker - Children's Residential Home
Responsibilities:
As a Support Worker at our children's care home in Cardiff, you will play a crucial role in supporting children and young people with additional and complex needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Autism Spectrum Conditions, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You will be part of a nurturing, child-focused team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing consistent, safe, and supportive care in line with each young person's individual care plan
Supporting children and young people in all aspects of daily life, including personal care, meals, and routines
Encouraging and promoting independence and the development of life skills
Building trusting, therapeutic relationships with children and young people to help them feel safe and valued
Supporting children to attend appointments, activities, and social outings
Contributing to a structured and predictable environment using trauma-informed and communication-focused approaches
Accurately recording care, progress, and incidents using electronic systems
Supporting the safeguarding, health, and emotional wellbeing of the young people at all times
