We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and resilient
Deputy Manager
to help lead our team and ensure that children receive the highest standards of support, care, and safeguarding. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service from the ground up and to have a real impact.
Role Overview:
As Deputy Manager, you will assist the Registered Manager in the daily operations of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and providing a therapeutic, safe, and supportive environment for the young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Registered Manager in leading and managing the residential team
Oversee the delivery of high-quality care in line with legislation, policies, and procedures
Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed and concerns are reported appropriately
Promote a culture of reflective practice, continuous improvement, and child-centred care
Support the development and implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
Take part in an on-call rota, provide direct support to young people when needed
Monitor staff performance, conduct supervisions, and support training and development
Build positive working relationships with professionals, families, and external agencies
Ensure accurate record-keeping, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance
Act as the senior decision maker in the absence of the Registered Manager
Essential Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a senior role within a residential childcare setting
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) -
Level 5 or working toward it desirable
Sound understanding of safeguarding, children's legislation, and Ofsted regulations
Strong leadership and communication skills
Resilience, emotional intelligence, and ability to manage challenging situations
Full UK Driving Licence
