About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our young people with their emotional, social and practical needs, while promoting a safe, caring and stimulating environment. You'll work as part of a dedicated team to provide consistent care, positive role modelling, and tailored support, helping our young people to develop skills, build resilience and reach their potential.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our young people at all times
Building positive, trusting relationships and acting as a consistent role model
Supporting daily routines, personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
Helping young people engage in education, hobbies, appointments and family contact
Using positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies
Acting as a key worker and contributing to care plans, reports and reviews
Maintaining accurate records and effective shift handovers
Working closely with colleagues, families and external professionals
Promoting a safe, nurturing and structured environment in line with: Children's Homes Regulations & Quality Standard, The Children's Act, Ofsted Framework
Working pattern:
Full-time (42 hours per week), including at least one sleep-in shift per week.
Example pattern:
Week 1 - Tue, Thu, Fri / Week 2 - Mon, Sat, Sun.

What We're Looking For
We are seeking people who are:
Patient, positive, reliable, flexible, motivational and caring
Able to build relationships and support young people with complex needs
Resilient, reflective and committed to ongoing development
Comfortable working shifts, weekends and sleep-ins
Able to drive and hold a clean driving licence
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Level 3 in Health & Social Care or Children & Young People's Services (or willingness to work towards this during employment)
Minimum 2 years' experience supporting young people, ideally those with additional or complex needs
Good knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation
Strong communication, recording and teamwork skills
