About the role - Children's Residential Support Worker - Learning Disabilities
New Horizons has a vacancy available for a Children's Residential Support Worker - Learning Disabilities for our learning disability specialist home situated in Dukinfield.
To be a part of a team offering a comprehensive residential service to children and young people, the aim being to ensure the physical, social, and emotional care and development of the young residents and the establishment.
Contract: Full time 40 hours
Pay: 31,824 - 34,840 per annum - please note that we do not offer sponsership.

Qualifications and Experience
Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship or Equivalent ( preferable).
Some experience in a Children's Residential Home (required).
Main responsibilities and Key Result Areas
To carry out duties in line with New Horizons policies and procedures.
To ensure the safety and well-being of the children and young people.
To promote structure, boundaries and domestic routines within the home.
Working in line with Children'scare plans.
To work in accordance with the National Minimum Care Standards for Children's homes and co-operate with any inspection process. Provide a positive role model for the young people, presenting yourself in a highly professional manner
Work in partnership with other agencies to the benefit of the young people.
Participate in, and complete reports for, statutory reviews and meetings concerning the young people were required.
Undertake relevant training programmes as required by the National Minimum Care Standards and the Company.
Complete and maintain administrative records as required by the home. Provide and participate in leisure activities in line with the care and placement plans of the young people.
Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, children and families.
Attend and participate in supervision and staff meetings as required in the National Minimum Care Standards
Work in partnership with colleagues and other professional to meet the social, emotional, educational, health and mental health needs of young people.
Awareness and responsibility for the health and safety of the home, children, young people, colleague and yourself.
As required, work with young people on intervention strategies to address behaviours.
Hollydene Children's Home provides a safe, stable and nurturing home, catering for the needs of children and young people of either gender with a Learning Disability, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Sensory Impairment. In consultation with local authorities, we provide long-term residential care.
Specifically, we work with a broad range of complex needs, which include:
Autistic Spectrum conditions
Moderate or severe learning difficulty
Global developmental delays
Sensory Impairment
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Specific language/communication difficulty
Foetal Alcohol Syndrome
We can provide placements for children and young people ages 5-17 in accordance with the experience and qualifications of our staff team and ensure the young people are suitably matched to be in placement together. Our placements are planned, reviewed and monitored according to the individual needs, ages and functioning ages of the young people residing at Hollydene.

Salary based on 40 hours paid on an hourly rate ranging from 12.30-13.75 per hour plus two sleep in's per week. (60 per sleep in) - please note that sleep ins are not guaranteed or contractual and will be allocated fairly between the staff team based on the needs of the young people.
