Overview


We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Children's Residential Support Workers to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide essential care and support to children with a range of complex needs. You will assist children with their daily activities whilst promoting the development of independence and life skills. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure children's views and wishes are captured, care plans are implemented, and children's individual needs are met. Working within a supportive environment you will be part of a team dedicated to raising young people's aspirations and achievements.

Responsibilities



Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people in our care. Assist children with daily living activities, including meal preparation and household tasks. Assist in the implementation of care and placement plans, tailored to the specific needs of each child. Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure a collaborative multi-agency approach. Accompany children to appointments or social activities as required. Ensure ongoing assessment and review of children's needs in day to day practice, and be able to evidence achievements. Utilise IT systems for record-keeping and reporting purposes. Promote the delivery of a safe, structured and nurturing environment. Engage children in educational and recreational activities to promote their development. Relate to and engage young people who display behaviour that challenges and utilise a variety of behaviour management strategies.

Experience



Previous experience in a support worker or similar role is desirable but not essential. Experience working with children or in childcare settings is an advantage. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with children and team members. A valid driving licence is desirable but not essential. IT proficiency is necessary for maintaining records and using relevant software applications.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.25-15.25 per hour
