We are proud of our
Dog Therapy programme
which aims to support young people in ways, often, only animals can, i.e., offer companionship, develop social skills, reducing anxiety. During visits, with the handler and staff support, the young person can read to the dog, groom him, go for walks, play fetch, learn to use basic commands, etc. We have found even a few minutes spent with the therapy dog can hugely impact a young person's mood and motivate them to engage in tasks they were initially declining. Our programme has the appropriate insurance, training and risk assessments in place to make sure everyone stays safe during a visit.
