To work in support of the Registered Home Manager to deliver high standards of care in a safe environment that meets the Children's needs whilst maintaining privacy and dignity.
Work Targets
Work under the direction of the Registered Home Manager and in conjunction with the Responsible Person, Social workers to assist in the implementation of care according to the children's individual care plan.
Work in an effective and efficient way utilising appropriate company policies, procedures and guidelines.
Under the supervision of the Registered Manager to continuously observe and accurately report on the children's condition and outcomes of care.
Communicate effectively by giving and receiving information so that appropriate action can be taken.
Continuously develop own skills and knowledge by fulfilling the requirements of the Residential Support Worker training programs.
Work with other members of the multi-professional team and develop strong inter agency working relationships.
Whilst under the supervision of the Registered Manager, always promote high quality care.
At all times ensure that own actions support and promote equality, diversity and the rights of children and staff within the company.
Make use of available resources e.g. equipment and stock in an effective and efficient way.
Report hazards to a senior residential worker or the Manager to promote the health and safety of children and staff in the home.
Within the limitations of the role complete all appropriate documents in a clear, accurate and timely way.
To adapt to the changing environment as the service develops.
The job description outlines the duties as currently required but may be amended by mutual agreement to reflect future developments in the service. Appropriate training will be provided to support essential additional skills required.

Requirements
Knowledge, training & experience
NVQ 3 Healthcare qualification in Care with children or working towards
Experience and understanding the role of children residential support worker.
Literacy and numeracy skills or equivalent
Physically able to perform the requirements of the role following appropriate training.
Basic IT skills
Ability to accurately maintain standard documentation and record own findings
Knowledge of childcare legislation & regulations
Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Fire Regulations
Basis understanding of Children's Rights
Communication & relationship skills
Able to clearly and accurately communicate information whilst maintaining confidentiality in a manner suitable to the recipient.
