Meadows Care has an exciting opportunity for a Residential Support Worker to join our team in Rochdale and surrounding area. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary , of 26,728.96 as a Grade 3 leading to 27,327.84 as a Senior(197 hours). We also offer an extended contract of 236 hours as a Grade 3 unqualified RSW starting at 32,020,48 (236 Hours), going up to 34,191.68 as a Deputy Manager, (236 hours).

Meadows Care is a therapeutic company with a number of homes specifically designed, furnished, and managed to optimally deliver Restorative and therapeutic care, and ensure all children and young people placed in the home achieve outstanding outcomes and recovery from childhood trauma.

You will receive specific training from our team of therapists, to enable you to work therapeutically with our young people, including attachment theories and PACE.

We run small homes for just 2, 3 or 4 young people, with high staffing ratios to provide the care and support required. We are based across the North West of England.

As a Residential Support Worker you are responsible for assisting in the promotion of good childcare practice in accordance with Meadows Care Policies and Procedures, Quality Standards and Every Child Matters, and for providing care, support and supervision to our young people, ensuring they can reach their full potential and thrive within a nurturing and caring environment.

We promote the welfare of staff within Meadows Care. Offering a Wellbeing service. Recognition and rewards for good practice via our employee of the month / year.

From Ofsted inspections we give 500 for "outstanding" outcome for a team night out. A time to celebrate your amazing hard work with your team.

Your responsibilities as a Residential Support Worker:



Maintaining an environment of therapeutic care for all young people, completing training specific to meeting the therapeutic needs of young people including attachment training and PACE.

Actively promoting Safeguarding within your work practice.

Actively promoting the welfare, safety, personal development and wellbeing of young people placed at Meadows Care

Administering prescribed and non-prescribed medication to young people as dictated by health practitioners and according to the young person's Placement Package and Meadows Care Policies

Maintaining good communication skills and written / electronic records

Promoting the participation of the young person in the decision-making process of the home

Supporting young people by driving them or via public transport, to home visits, school and appointments etc. that is in or out of the local area and may involve long distances.

Promoting anti-discriminatory practices and equal opportunity practices in line with Meadows Care policy

Attending and taking an active part in team meetings, handovers and supervisions

Committing to training and development through Meadows Care, this includes gaining the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Care funded by Meadows Care

Has good values and integrity. Able to share our ethos and our values as stated on our website and put this into daily practice.



Ability to write legibly, use electronic devices , ensuring others can read and understand reports and other documentation

In accordance with Section 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 this post requires the ability to converse at ease with the members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.

Ability to engage in recreational activities with the young people, and develop their interests in new hobbies.

Commitment to personal development and learning

IT skills

Ability to positively engage with young people

Ability to empathise with young people who have experienced emotional trauma.
