Theraputic childrens home



As a therapeutic childrens home, you will be tasked with caring for vulnerable children who are facing mental health challenges. Your role involves offering support, guidance, and a safe environment for these children to thrive in spite of their difficulties. Comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills to effectively manage various situations that may arise, ensuring the well-being of the children under your care. Additionally, ongoing supervision will be available to offer guidance, support, and assistance as you navigate the complexities of working with vulnerable youth.

About us

K.C Homes is a venture founded by Carl, a social worker and children's therapist, who also serves as a foster carer. And Kevin, a former OFSTED rated "Outstanding" teacher with 15 years of experience, is part of the team. Kevin is currently an elite combat sport coach who recently earned the title of Gym of the Year. With our combined experiences, we are confident in our ability to run an outstanding therapeutic children's home.

The role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will provide assistance and support to individuals with various needs, such as physical disabilities, mental health issues, or learning difficulties. Your role will involve promoting independence, ensuring the well-being of clients, and assisting them in their daily activities.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Administer medication as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Support individuals in maintaining a clean and safe living environment
- Assist with transportation to appointments or social activities
- Engage in meaningful activities with clients to promote social interaction and personal development
- Monitor and report any changes in clients' physical or mental health condition
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and other support workers to develop and implement care plans

Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Empathy and compassion for individuals with diverse needs
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging situations
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of clients
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations

TRAINING:



All staff are required to attend full induction training including Child Protection and Physical Intervention before commencing employment. This training will be provided at no cost to the employee. A level 3 diploma in Heath & Social Care - Children and Young people is desirable, if not completed all Residential Support Worker must achieve this within 2 years of commencing post, unless they already hold an appropriate qualification.

Shift pattern

The role is based on a 40 hours week, on a 2 shifts in 4 days off rota basis, the needs of the home are paramount, notice will be given in advance if shifts are required to change to support the needs of the service. Your shift will start at 10pm and Finish at 8am

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 27,120.00 per year
