We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Residential Support Workers to join our expanding team, working with a client based in the Tonyrefail area of RCT, South Wales. In this role, you will provide essential support to children, helping them achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life. These are Zero Hours contract positions however work is extremely regular and can fit around your own work / life balance. Long Day / Sleep shifts are available, and the company does not offer waking night shifts.
You will work closely with families and other organizational professionals to implement care plans tailored to each child's needs. Your ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate empathy will be crucial in fostering a supportive environment. Responsibilities
Assist Children / Young People with daily activities in a residential setting, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
Implement individual care plans in collaboration with families and other healthcare professionals either on site or Head Office.
Provide emotional support and encouragement to children, helping them build confidence and help their character.
Drive children to appointments or activities as required, ensuring timely arrival.
Maintain accurate records of progress and any incidents that occur during your shifts.
Communicate regularly with families regarding the child's progress and any concerns.
Utilize IT systems for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in childcare.
Requirements
6 months plus UK care experience. Working with Children & Young People is key for this role, though similar placement backgrounds will be looked at.
Valid DBS on update service (Children & Adult), though we can provide this independently at cost to candidate.
Right to Work in UK in place, and residing in the South Wales area. Please do not apply if you live overseas.
A valid UK Manual Driving License is essential for transporting children as needed for the role. You will be taking YP's to school, appointments and activities.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with children, families, and colleagues.
Familiarity with implementing care plans is advantageous. The understanding and following of care plans at all times is crucial.
A genuine passion for supporting children's development and well-being.
Ability to work flexibly, adapting to the varying needs of the children you support.
A PMVA qualification is required to work in these units which will be at the cost of the candidate (80 plus VAT) but the workers can keep this certificate and use elsewhere. If you already have a certificate this is a massive help and can be used immediately.
