Job Description

Fun Science is looking for an entertaining fun scientist to lead our after school clubs, and provide alternative provision. For this role, you will be running science-themed after school clubs for young children in and around Bath and Wiltshire, and delivering 1:1 sessions to children with primary-aged children with autism and ADHD in their school environment, or at their own home. We require someone with strong organisational skills who is forward thinking, efficient and self-sufficient and has experience working with children in an education setting.

You will also have the opportunity to be part of the general development and organisation of the business, helping to shape the way we make science fun for children.

This role will be 15 hours a week term-time only (full time equivalent salary is 31,200), but you will also have the opportunity to work at events in the school holidays and be paid overtime for these hours.

Own transport is essential, as is an entertaining, enthusiastic personality! You will be given all the equipment and training needed to run activities including chemical reactions, slime making, hair raising and rocket launches. Experience working with children is essential. Scientific knowledge is highly desirable.

Pay starts at 15 per hour. This role is 15 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 1.30pm-4.30pm, term-time only. Mileage is paid at a rate of 35p a mile and you will be expected to travel up to 20 miles from your home address (the majority of our 1:1 sessions are in Wiltshire and the majority of our after school sessions are in Bath and Bristol) though we will aim to give you sessions as close to your home address as possible and most sessions will be much closer than this.
