Children's Residential Support Worker

Dalleagles, Scotland | Zero hour Bank contract (includes weekends & overnights)

Step up, make memories, and change lives with Honeypot.

At Honeypot Children's Charity, we give young carers aged 5-13 the chance to be children again -- through unforgettable residential breaks, creative play, and emotional well-being support.

We're looking for an energetic and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker -- someone who loves to jump in, get involved, and is ready to step up and lead when needed.

Communication is Key

We need someone who asks questions, shares ideas, and thrives on teamwork. You'll talk openly with colleagues, learn from others, and work together to find solutions. Whether it's planning an activity or managing the paperwork, you'll communicate clearly and confidently.

About the Role

Support the planning and delivery of fun, safe, and meaningful residential breaks for young carers.

Help lead activities that build confidence, independence, and joy.

Stay calm under pressure, using practical problem-solving and empathy.

Step up to lead groups or direct other staff when required -- showing initiative and leadership potential.

Work as part of a close-knit team, learning from your peers and supporting one another.

Use your local knowledge to help plan day trips and outdoor adventures.

Keep the Ops Manager updated on plans, challenges, and ideas.

What We're Looking For

Excellent communicator -- curious, proactive, and eager to learn.

Calm and pragmatic when faced with challenges.

Team player who listens to feedback and adapts quickly.

Comfortable leading children's groups and giving direction when needed.

Organised and efficient, especially when planning sessions or managing time.

Bubbly, positive, and full of energy!

Essential Skills & Experience

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Play Work, Childcare, Youth Work or Teaching.

Experience working with children in a residential, youth, or care setting.

Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

Ability to support and motivate others.

Desirable: Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene certificate, and a full driving licence.

Perks & Practicalities

Accommodation and meals provided during residential stays.

Weekend and overnight flexibility required.

Work that's meaningful, memorable, and truly rewarding.

Ready to step up and make a difference? Join Honeypot and help us give young carers the break -- and the childhood -- they deserve.
