PA required for boy a happy, smiley, go lucky little boy who is seven years old autistic. He is obsessed with the TV show Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig, he is very energetic. He loves water and the great outdoors.
About the role
This role will involve supporting our son to access the community and enjoy activities and the great outdoors. He is autistic, preverbal his speech is echolalic, he also has a diagnosis of PICA (compulsive eating of non-food objects), he is very sensory seeking and exhibits complex behaviours. He always requires 1-2-1 supervision and has intimate care needs.
The role will involve transporting him to and from activities in your own vehicle (we are in the process of sourcing a 2nd vehicle for your use.)
The kind of person I am looking for
We are looking for a personal assistant who is happy and confident in dealing with a child with complex behaviours. Someone who enjoys a good park, a long walk and a fun splash. A background working with children especially those with additional needs is a must.
We are looking for someone who is looking to carry out this role long term so that we can build a strong working trusting relationship. We will require DBS checks to be undertaken if not already in place this will be arranged by Flintshire County Council. There is also the option for additional training to be undertaken including a PA certificate via e-learning which will be paid.
What you can expect from me
We will provide all equipment necessary for him to be transported safely in your vehicle. We will also pay millage at the standard rate. Our son has passes and memberships for lot's of local attractions which you will be able to use with him.
Days and Times required
We have been awarded 6 hours a week for a PA, however we are looking to bank some of these to allow flexibility over school holiday periods we are proposing:
4 hours a week (weekend work.)
8 hours a week during half terms, Easter, Christmas etc (to be agreed to suit both parties' schedules)
12 hours a week during school summer holidays (to be agreed to suit both parties' schedules)
Necessary Training
Not asking for specifics but experience of working with children with additional need is essential. A willingness to also undertake relevant and support training.

Pay: 15.63 per hour
Expected hours: 4 - 12 per week
