Closing date: 9th November 2025
Extremely rewarding opportunity to become part of our daughters life - supporting her with an empowering approach as she grows up into adulthood.
About the role:
We are looking for a kind, patient and creative personal assistant to support our happy, chatty and bubbly 12 year old daughter with autism.
She has a wonderful sense of humour, a big imagination and loves drawing, crafts and spending time with animals - especially her cats.
She enjoys one to one attention and benefits from gentle encouragement when exploring new activities or being around others. She can be very sensitive to noise and may sometimes become overwhelmed and distressed - so we are looking for someone calm, understanding and able to provide reassurance and comfort when this happens.
Support will also be required with personal care as she is doubly incontinent.
We are a very supportive and close family and we will work closely with you to make sure that she feels safe, happy and understood.
The main focus for the support will be helping our daughter to enjoy life, grow in confidence and access social opportunities in a way that feels comfortable and fun for her.
Your main duties would be:
Supporting our daughter to enjoy her current interests, such as drawing, crafts and creative play. To also help our daughter explore new interests and hobbies that she may enjoy
Encouraging her to build friendships and gradually increase her confidence and tolerance around others (this will be a very gradual process and you will be working alongside family and professionals to help achieve this)
Providing re-assurance and support when she may feel overwhelmed by noise or busy environments. She can at times self harm if she becomes overwhelmed
Assist with personal care, including continence needs
Working closely with us as a family to ensure consistent and person - centred support
