Job Description

Are you a passionate and dedicated Qualified Social Worker looking to make a difference in the lives of children and families? Barking & Dagenham Council is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team. In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively with various agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community.
As a Children's Social Worker in the MASH Team, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting initial assessments and safeguarding investigations to determine the needs and risks to children.
Collaborating with partner agencies, including schools, health services, and law enforcement, to gather information and provide a coordinated response.
Developing and implementing effective intervention plans to support children and families.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements and local policies.
Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to case discussions and decision-making processes.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work or equivalent).
Registration with Social Work England.
Proven experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities to assess risk and formulate appropriate interventions.
