Job Description

Join our dedicated Children's Social Work team in Southwark, where you will play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. As a Social Worker within our Safeguarding Team, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and families, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring that children are protected from harm. Your expertise will contribute to creating a safe and nurturing environment, empowering families to thrive.
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and reviews of children and families in accordance with legislation and local policies.
  • Developing and implementing tailored intervention plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Managing a complex caseload, ensuring timely and effective intervention to safeguard children.
  • Providing support and guidance to families, promoting positive parenting and healthy relationships.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including health services, education, and law enforcement, to ensure holistic support for children.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working in children's social care, particularly in safeguarding.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working in partnership with families and professionals.
