Job Description

The Children's Therapies Department is seeking administrative and clerical support for our friendly team of Children's Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapists . The post is based within the department. The post is not direct patient facing but the successful applicant will have excellent communication skills to deal with phone calls alongside carrying out a variety of administrative duties. They will need to be able to accurately touch type, input data, use excel spread sheets and set appointments up on the hospital Electronic Patient Records system, working efficiently alongside our existing secretarial support.



Provide a complete medical administrative service which may include, patient correspondence, copy and audio typing, editing and formatting letters, information resources, referral to treatment (RTT) data entry and any other appropriate documents as required.

Liaising with Therapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a quality service for the patients.

Working as part of a team sharing responsibility for the smooth running of the administrative service.

To provide a first point of contact, including answering all telephone enquiries from internal and external callers, taking and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner, and using own judgement to establish the priority of issues and taking action as appropriate. Disseminate key information in line with Information Governance and other relevant Trust policies.
